But if you’re a serious gamer and you live and breathe Xbox, Playstation or both, everything else is just icing on the cake. Thinness, design and looks, brightness, brand, etc. all matter to gamers, of course, but those things don’t actually help you game more beautifully or competitively.

Samsung JU7500
The first thing you notice about the Samsung JU7500 series (which is available in a variety of screen sizes from 40″ up to 78″) is the awesome curved screen. It’s a 4K UHD (Ultra-High Definition) TV with built-in Wi-Fi for pulling in loads of smart content. It’s also 3D capable so you can immerse yourself in your favorite 3D movies. The precise color and deep blacks make this an overall winner. And, of course, for gaming purposes this Samsung TV has the least lag and blur of the three recommendations on this page.
LG EG9600
The LG EG9600 series (which comes in 55″ and 65″ versions) it also a curved 4K UHD TV. But unlike TVs from other manufacturers, it’s an OLED TV which means that it doesn’t require a backlight — and that makes this TV really (incredibly) thin. On top of that, the TV can switch off individual pixels giving it the deepest possible blacks on the market (since literally no light is being emitting) — which in turn makes the surrounding colors pop all the more. Finally, the colors are richer than the industry standing. Though it performs slightly worse than the Samsung models in terms of lag and blur, this would probably be my personal choice for a gaming TV.
Sony X10C
The Sony X10C series (available in 55″ and 65″ models) is going to be a great “midrange” gaming TV (that can be had for under $1,000 right now). For gaming, it’s performance isn’t quite up to par with the Samsung and LG models listed here, but it’s still leagues ahead of “budget” gaming TVs (thinkVizio TVs). You’ll get 4K UHD performance paired with Android TV and a voice control remote. Plus, you can stream PS3 games using PlayStation Now (which might appeal to some of you).
